Free Stopping Clinics

We operate a Stopping Clinic on West 72nd Street, where Skate Patrollers give free lessons on how to use the heel brake, and safe skating information.

The clinic, located just inside the West 72nd Street entrance to the Park, operates from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday from approximately April 15th through October 15th. To find out whether the clinic will take place, please check here and sign up.

Patrollers also roam the park, and when we come across beginning skaters who have trouble using their heel brake we either give them an on-the-spot stopping lesson or direct them to one of our Stopping Clinics.
